The Atelier numérique in Versailles is placed in an historical building in town center. More than to operate a renovation, the project give new life to that space by blowing in it a contemporary note and making urban life coming in.
The project respects the existing building while making it adequate to contemporary standards and uses.
By entering the hall we can see the sequence of modular spaces, connected each other.
Using the same concept visible from the street, a continuous timber frame covering the walls organizes all the equipment while the magnificent historical floors are restored. This kind of furniture is shaped to respond to different configurations: seats can freely move from the edges to the center in order to organize lectures, workshop or other activities.
